Guus, Eef and Hans took 5 days off while Grandma Gerry was watching the rest of the family in Michigan.

The St. Regis Resort in Dana Point looks classical but was only opened a few months ago.
It was good to see old and new friends from all around the world who had gathered for this 100% Club event.
As we brought Guus, just 3 weeks old, we decided to take it very easy and do absolutely nothing but getting to know Guus a little better. We brought lots of good books and spent most of our time around the pool.
Guus
certainly liked the undivided attention of his parents, especially in the
full-size bath-tub inside. Here also he lost the last part of his umbilical
cord.
Evenings
were spent at the fireplace in the bar, mingling with American celebrities. As
we never have the TV on, we of course did not recognize any of them.
A speech of Mr. Bill Clinton was also part of the program, finally someone we did know!

It was only a few hours ride through the desert to reach Las Vegas. We had never been here and marveled at this mirage. Las Vegas is both a monument of tastelessness as well as a tribute to the American spirit of borderless imagination and entrepreneurial spirit.
The Bellagio hotel is the largest 5-star hotel in the world, with 4005 rooms. We did not count them, so we'll take the concierge's word for it.
To see copies of Paris, New York, Italy, Egypt etc. all on a mile of road in the middle of dessert truly is amazing.

Finally a little business had to be taken care off so the Tuxedo went on. Finally Guus could see dad in his favorite outfit.
