Sinterklaas made a special trip to Houston for the Dutch community here. Accompanies by real FBI agents arriving in a pick-up truck it was a little different than his traditional trip by steamboat from Spain to Holland.... Nevertheless all the kids were very impressed.
At home we had weeks of fun dressing up as Sinterklaas.
Sint Daan acted so well that his brothers were all impressed.
Stan was so convinced that he was Sinterklaas that he did not want to take off the costume for days and even slept in it.
Finally, Sint' birthday was there and many gifts appeared mysteriously on the front steps of our house.
Grandma Ger also came to celebrate.
Many rhymes came with presents, it is always incredible how well Sinterklaas knows us...
Hardly had we finished Sinterklaas or it was time to prepare for Christmas.
The children's bible was the favorite reading material.
we chose to have a real Christmas tree...
The incredible happened... snow in Texas. After the mass in church we came out in a white world....
The Christmas decorations ar so impressive that some neighborhoods have traffic problems with all the sightseers.
Stan visiting the actual birthplace....
For weeks Stan thought he was baby Jesus and we had to wrap him in cloth.
Completely different subject. We still like Korean food and visit our favourite "Han-shik" restaurant.
Even in December it can be very mild and we eat lunch in the back yard a lot.
