We had decided for Holland but had kept an open mind about where exactly we would live again. Somewhere in the middle of Holland, or closer to the borders with Germany and/or Belgium.
For the first few weeks we decided to move back to Hoorn, where Eefke and Hans grew up and where we would stay at Gerry's house. Eefke found a rental place on the water that we moved into and the kids went to the Montessori school 5 minutes walking distance, at the same location where Hans' school used to be.
The kids liked the school, contacts with old friends where reestablished, new friends were made, and before we knew it we could only conclude that Hoorn would be the "hometown" for our family.

Summer 2006
Thanks to global warming Holland has become a pleasant place to stay. We had months of great weather and the canal in front of our house was a great place to cool off.
